How We Size a Left-Chest Logo for Embroidered Polos

Picture a service manager greeting a customer at the door. The customer recognizes the logo on his polo as the one on the truck outside. That’s what we want from a left-chest logo. It should be easy to recognize from a few feet away and look like it belongs on the shirt.
Finding the right size and placement
A round crest and a company name set on one line can measure the same width and look completely different on a polo. The crest fills the space vertically. The name may need a little more width for the letters to read comfortably. We look at both dimensions, then use the polo’s button placket, seams, and any chest pocket to decide where the design will sit when someone wears it.
How the artwork translates to thread
A narrow gap between two shapes can look clear on screen and disappear once we stitch the logo on a textured knit. Opening that gap slightly can keep both shapes distinct at the finished size. If a small tagline gets crowded, we may recommend using just the name and symbol on the polo.
When a detail is a close call, we sew out a sample for you to review. You can see the logo at its finished size and approve it before we embroider your polos.
For reorders, we refer back to the approved artwork, embroidery dimensions, polo style, and thread colors. That way, the next hire’s shirt looks like it belongs with the rest of the crew.
